Following in the wave of amphibious mobile suits being developed for the Principality of Zeon's Earthside war front during the One Year War, MIP Company's first production model mobile suit was the highly successful MSM-07 Z'Gok. Being both fast in the water and agile on land, the Z'Gok had learned from Zimmad Company's MSM-03 Gogg and Zeonic Company's MSM-04 Acguy, replacing the bulky ballast water tanks normally used for cooling the suit's reactor out of water with an air-cooled fan system. The Z'Gok also had mega particle cannons mounted in the claw-hands for easier aiming, and large-capacity magazines for its missile launchers. All of these factors made the Z'Gok perhaps the most successful line of amphibious mobile suits used by the Principality of Zeon.
Suit Build
This model was actually the first Gundam kit I built, so I tried out a few new things on it, such as pre-shading and was very impressed with the easy of the build and quality of the result. As I'd got rather tired of spending numerous hours filling and sanding ERTL and Polar Lights kits this was a pleasant change and the style is something I've been developing a taste for. More Gundam kits naturally followed.
There is not a great deal of build information on this particular kit I'm afraid.
Stage One:The Box and Contents
The only extra I did for this kit was to add a novelty flashing light to the eye. The LEDs are located within the body and a piece of clear acrylic carried the light into the back of the eye. The switch is hidden under the body, where it attaches to the legs.
A brief piece of video shows this effect in action:
The pictures below show the model but I hope to complete an appropriate base at some point.
