Suit Details
Unit Name: NS465-Neuspotter
Unit Type: Recon Drone
Operator: Shutoral Forces
Accommodation: None (automated drone)
Operational History: In March, 2883, the Shutoral National Defense Force ordered the Weapon Development Service to produce a high power driverless reconnaissance weapon.
However, development and production were far behind time owing to a change for the worse of the war situation and a shortage of output of antigravity equipment.
It was not until the end of September 2884, that the Shutoral forces actually began to produce the driverless reconnaissance weapon for reconnaissance and high mobility.
The new driverless reconnaissance weapon was high rated on it's reconnaissance capacity and silence and each force demanded the new weapon.
However, the number of production was always low because production of P.K.A. was a priority to the Neuspotter.
Therefore the actual deployment of Neuspotters was limited to a few superior forces.
Unit Build
Like the Krachenvogel this something of a rarity in the Ma.K. world because the story is that some parts of the mould were damaged and it has not been possible to re-release the model. I acquired this one as part of a job lot of 12 models when I first got interested in Ma.K. many years ago.
This particular model has actually already been built once, using a grey's camo pattern. But I never liked it that much and thought I'd repaint it and tidy up some of the building that was left unfinished last time.
31st January 2006-The Original Version and New Scheme
Here are the pictures of the original colour scheme. The model has now been re-primed and some of the untidy seamlines have been cleaned up.
The colour schemes that come with the model can be seen in the card shown below:
The scheme I've decided to go for is the one with the split colours shown bottom right. Bit weird but will certainly be different to anything else I've done so far. Also wanted to have something very different from the Krachenvogel I have already done.
5th February 2006-Painting
Time to throw some paint on this sucker. As described above I'm going for the colour scheme that is split across the vertical axis. Bit weird but kind of like it. The two colours I've picked are deck tan and a pale green. Masking was a bit of a pain for this as it's tricky getting the masking tape to run in a straight line when there are lumps and bumps in the way. But using a combination of very thin tape and liquid mask I got there in the end. Some touching up needs doing but it's not too bad.
You can also spot the little smoke cannisters on the back which were built from asome metal stock and some resin smike dischargers.
6th March 2006-Finished
Not much in the way of a build log with this model, mainly because it had already been built and painted once. But it's now completed. The model was given a coat of Klear to get a nice glossy surface and the decals added. Another coat then sealed them in. An application of brown oil paints was applied to the nooks and crannies to make the detail pop out and once this was dried it was given a coat of Klear mixed with about 25% Tamiya flat base.
